Different types of squats

Are there different types of squats which do different things? I want to make my bum bigger n toned but not loose weight(oh and tone my legs!) iv heard to do squats with legs wider apart to get bigger behind! Is this true? Need help as quite new to all this!!

Well I've noticed my bottom getting more shapely by using my ankle weights and workout bar placing it across my shoulders and squatting down as low as I can. Doing 50 - 100 squats a day.

Do wide legged squats. Squats with legs close. Lunges.
