I want to get a stronger core so I can become better at distance running for crosscountry. Suggestions?

Anthony had some good exercises but you as a runner need to avoid heavy weight lifting from full body workouts such as squats and dead lifts if you absolutely had to do then use low weight and high reps but id recommend in addition to jump rope, pulse ups, roman twists, toe touch sit ups, knee raises from wide grip pull-up grip, and you can never go wrong with the exercise ball!
