Medial collateral ligament (MCL) knee sprain

Hi, I have a MCL knee sprain and I'd like to know what exercises are better for the recover phase.
I'm swimming and doing some arms and abs exercises but I want to start with legs and weights. Any suggestion?

I'm not an expert by no means but I'm going through the same thing. I take taekwondo classes and that's where i did it lol. I'm trying to strengthen the muscles in and around my knee by doing squats and standing on the leg that my sore knee is on. And i.wear a knee brace during class.or long workouts. Hope this helps. Just take your time i know its frustrating but we can't push it.
