Ankle strength and flexibility

Hello I'm a figure skater and need some tips and exercise idea to build strength in my ankles as well as flexibility. Any ideas?

My dad has taught martial arts for almost 40 years and all of his teachers had a stretching warm up. For ankles (one at a time,) while standing, stretch your ankle in the four directions slowly, then stretch to the diagonals. Finally on your toe roll in a clockwise motion 8 times going slow in the sore or injured areas and then counterclockwise 8 times.

You can do stability exercises on one foot to strengthen the ankle joint. Here are a few that Skimble has:

Also, exercise tools called balance pads are made for this purpose as well. Popular brands are 'airex' and a less expensive version is 'theraband'. Let me know if you have any other questions :)
