I've had backache for a while and nothing seems to work! I've tried stretching it out an various other things but nothing seems to work! Do you have any suggestions?

Ik it's winter but try to find a pool swimming helps so much

Maybe you need to strengthen your back. Lots of people focus so much on their abs and the back muscles get weak in comparison.

How long is awhile?
Try heating pad as suggested. Try putting a back support for the mean time.  Take a break from working out and stretch. I heard maybe your core muscles are weak and it might be causing the backaches. If all things fail, take a robaxacet to relieve the pain if u have no other choice. Maybe you are not doing some exercises with proper alignment. Hope it gets better.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions! I will try some out! Are there any specific ways you can strengthen your back muscle rather than just abs?

There are many workouts for ur back. But I usually go on a ball and go up contracting your back muscles. But don't do any of those still the pain in your back has gone away. Go easy and stretch Yolande

I get a strong guy to hug me and squeeze me really hard. It cracks all of my back. Instant relief.

hey yolanda, the sit up Queen=)) do some seated spiral stretches for ur lower back, and do light deadlifting...like a 25 lb plate for insstance, youll gain raw strength in no time

Avoid bending your back n lifting weights,avoid stairs..hope this helps with analgesics 4 a week

Google the Superman exercise for your lower back. Also stretching with the yoga pose called childs pose will stretch it nicely.

Fish around for some yoga backbends, don't do too much sitting at a time and make sure you're sleeping properly and drinking plenty of water. Don't slouch too much, either. All these things did wonders for my back.

Also if it persists after a couple weeks possibly see a chiropractor.

Ah, that's true, try stretching your back while sitting with your arms behind your chair than.
