Take a deep breath and hold it as long as possible. You should also try swallowing air. Hiccups are caused by your diaphragm being out of place and these two actions will force it back into its proper position, depending on how it's shifted.
Take a deep breathe until you feel like your lungs are gonna explode. The breathe in just a little more. Hold it for 10 seconds, then slowly breathe out. Works wonders. I always get the hiccups and this gets the job done. Good luck and God Bless.

Many reasons for hiccups... u have to increse the partial pressure of CO2.. as they said hold ur breath for some time or u can breathe in a paper bag..!! U can also use swallowing dry bread or crushed ice as it will relax ur phrenic nerve... u can also initiate a gag reflex to get rid from hiccups..!! And if u gets hiccups after eating something spicy or drinking tea or something, then it because of eosophageal reflux, try having cold milk in that case.!! Hope it helps..
