Anyone take any form of martial arts? If so what / how long and if not what would you take?,

12 Jun
I don't, but my hubby and son have been doing Tae Kwon do for a little over 4 years. Hubby is black belt, will test for 2nd degree next spring. Son is 9, and will be testing for his black belt this fall. What do you do?
12 Jun
Blackbelt at 9? The heck hehe
13 Jun
Haha! Yeah, he is actually pretty good =) he will be the youngest in the Association, at least for this region. Pretty cool. The owner is a 9th degree grandmaster from Korea, pretty bad ass for a dude in his 70s!
13 Jun
What's the name of the Grand Master?
13 Jun
Nestor, it's K.H. Kim

Oh ok then. Krisi, may I ask the name of the organization?

13 Jun
They are part of the National Taekwondo Association, they practice traditional taekwondo. We are in Nebraska. Are you familiar w Master Kim somehow? If so, small world!
14 Jun
No I'm not but, for a moment thought you were part of the United States National Taekwondo Federation. :-)
14 Jun
I'm in Illinois and the Grand Master is D. K. Kwon. Haven't gone back to the school in 3yrs though. I'm a 1st degree Blk belt
14 Jun
Ah, ok, cool. Is that one in the same association? I know we do tourneys with schools in Madison, WI, and Minneapolis, but there are other grand masters that come from around the country for the black belt tests.
14 Jun
Honestly, I think it's a different association though
