Push up help

Sooooo I'm.joining the military and I seem to not be able to do pushups... Anyone know any exercises I can do to help me prepare for them?

What branch you joining? I did 4 years in the Marine Corps. For now try pushups with your knees on the ground. It makes it easier and will build you up to a full pushup.

I can do pushups like those no problem lol and air force

It's a lot easier to do push ups with someone yelling at you lol! Focus on form, try to do as many normal ones as you can, revert to on your knee push ups if you must. The TI's will help you push yourself farther than you imagined possible.

Okay, then put your feet onto a gym ball or in an elevated position and try and do push-ups.

if you can't do one just hold the position to do one until it hurts as much as you can stand   . maybe a few times a day for a few days of the week.after a week of that or two you can try to do some. if you still find yourself collapsing when going down limit your range of movement down. as you do this you should be able to get stronger and better range with te movement. just as long as you stick with it. I would also recommend some running outside just to be in better shape. you'll be doing plenty of that in the military as well.
