Have you heard of high intensity interval training (HIIT)? It's all the rage these days and supposedly more effective. The idea is short bursts of intense activity, sprints, for example, done in intervals, is more effective in less time than a long session just running a constant pace.
Lots of workouts follow the HIIT philosophy now, probably it's an overused label that is becoming less accurate...
That's all I know, I don't necessarily know it in detail or claim to do it really.
