New looking for tips and advice

I just recently(2 weeks in) started working out I am way more out of shape then I realized (23 male 6foot 2" ) I weight somewhere in between 250 and 260 I started watching what I eat lowering my calorie intake I go to the gym every day after work (5 days awk) and so far only power walk on the treadmill trying to get my legs and body in the habit of going and working out. I don't really know anyone who is into losing weight or working out so I was just wondering if this is a good start am I missing anything or does anyone have any useful tips. right now my goals are lose weight and build endurance and healthier in my overall lifestyle.

first off let me say congrats on starting your healthy fitness journey. whats your current diet looking like? an whats the weigh u trying to get down to?
