I've seen some very nice workouts with dumbbells here and I really want to try them out! But I've never worked with dumbbells before. I want to train my back and train my arms but don't want to look like she-hulk after a few weeks with what weights should I start? 2kg? More? Less? And please consider, I'm not very strong yet . Really looking forward to your answers!!
Even I want to know more about using the appropriate weights while doing dumb bell exercises.
From what I read on website, it stated that 3.5 kg to 7 is appropriate for beginner (I started out with 7 kg and I really got trouble with full body workout) (Strength Train), but after the fourth trial I was able to executed all workout perfectly. Basically it got easier each time you do it.
Starting weights are different for everyone. You probably will use different dumbells for different exercises.
Sooo... Did weight training 101with 2 kg each. It was really nice as first dumbbell workout. Not to easy but also not to tough. Though I will feel my arms tomorrow. next time I will try dumbbell greatness
I totally recommend dumbbells especially for beginners. I would use a weight that allow you to get 12 to 15 repetitions, per set for about 4 to 5 sets
