Yo, you should go for explosive bodyweight movements in a tabata - style workout regimen. 3 times a week, 5 exercises (1 push movement, 1 pull, 1 leg, 1 core) and in a month you'll see your athletic endurance, functional strength and preparedness improve like never before It worked for me, and for all of those I taught functional training to.
