Protein shakes

So I'm a diabetic and want to lose some lb. I don't eat a lot of protein and looking at some protein shakes that would be good to take. I know soy and whey have their ups and downs please give some advice.

Green smoothies all the way, use broccoli, China seeds, flax seeds, kale, spinach, wheat grass, mustard greens, chard, and if they're okay for you some Apple, banana, kiwi, and/or pineapple. My friend is a diabetic and he's been doing okay with these. I defiantly recommend loading up on the kale and chia seeds though. Kale has a mild sweetness to it, I use it on sandwiches, in smoothies, salads, everything kale. If you haven't already I'd look into getting a book on smoothies for diabetics.
