Stretch AFTER workout to ease the lactic acid out of your muscles.

Get a foam roller or use one at the gym. I like to use it after warming up. Post workout take an anti inflammatory and an anti oxidant. A good way to cover both those bases is ginger lemon tea. You can use straight ginger root soaked in hot water. Green tea or vitamin C are great antioxidants.

I just started back as well. That sore feeling is no fun. Soak in a hot bath, drink plenty of water and get a lot of rest. Most importantly, don't give up. The soreness will fade.

After you work out try a few minutes in easy on the bike or eliptical to get the enzymes that are in your looks moving around and prevents build up of lactic acid. That and stretch

Or as what we said in the army. Pain is weakness leaving the body

Warm up. Get the blood flowing and the pain will ease. You should also get a protein shake to help repair the muscle quicker
