Ankle weights

A few days ago I bought some ankle weights and I'm wondering if its OK to run/ jog with them I've been doing so until yesterday my mom said I could get hurt I checked on Google and I keep getting mixed answers some say yes some say no so is it a yes or a no?..

Yes it is good to use ankle weights. It increases speed.

Use a backpack with weights if you have concerns for safety that will provide the same benefits with less confusion.. ankle weights are necessary for increasing your jump otherwise a backpack would do the same job hope this helps?
