Is it a good idea to drink a cup of coffee before a workout? Just to get that little kick?

Yep, nothing wrong with that at'all. It's a nice substitute for pre work out mixes

You should be fine :) Just be cautious of the amount of cream and sugar you add .

It's fine. Pay attention to how you feel. I often won't do it cuz I'm sensitive to caffeine and working out with it can make me feel like I'm gonna have a heart attack, but a lot of people use it before working out.

I drink coffee after my workout, it's kinda like my reward.

I was worried about this topic because I usually do my workout in the morning and start most (not all) morning with a cup of Joe. Now I have my answer and need not feel guilty anymore.

A shot of coffee before a workout is a great way to give you an energy boost and it has minimal calories. Some fitness athletes also take it after their workout in their protein drink to get their metabolism ramped up a little to burn calories.
It's not the coffee that's bad for you, it's the stuff that gets put in with it

A coffee, 30 -45min before a workout, increases fat burning.
Coffee is good, even has positive health effects, as long as you don't add sugar and milk. And of course do not drink coffee only.

I drink coffee all the time. The only negative side effect of caffeine is it restricts blood flow. So I try to avoid caffeine before workouts as I want my blood to flow as much as possible.
