How do you lose the last few pounds?

I've been working out and eating really healthy all summer, and I've gone from 146 to 133. My goal was to be back in the 120s, but I've been at 133 for the past couple weeks and I'm not sure how to burn off these last few pounds. Any suggestions?

The last few are the hardest. A few pounds is actually a big percentage of your overall weight if you don't weigh much. You seem to be doing fine. Be patient, but keeping it off is the real challenge. Losing the weight is easy. Good luck. (BTW, I'm having the same problem ;) )

That depends on if they're pounds of fat, or pounds of muscle.
If they're still pounds of fat, lowering your calorie intake by 5% a week will do the trick.
If it's time to buy new clothes because the ones you own are falling off and people are commenting how great you look, then it's probably pounds of muscle and you should put a 7.62mm through your scale.

There's my suggestion.

  1. Try a 10 calorie-per-pound diet.
  2. Do empty stomach cardio for 20-to-30 minutes at a slow pace 4-or-5 times per week. Do this on top of your regular workout regimen.
  3. Monitor your weight and body-fat percentage each Monday morning. If you drop 1-to-2 pounds per week, keep going.

Sounds like you gained muscle. You have worked really hard!  However, continue to do what you've been doing and really commit to it. You may want to do more cardio work outs to burn any more fat . Keep up the work and don't give up!
