Excercizes for your mid-section

What are some good excersizes i can do for my midsection that dont involve ground work (sit ups, etc)?
Ive got a bad shoulder & it is extremely painful to do sit ups or anything on my back):
I can still manage planks, push ups, & things like that just NOT directly on my back.
Help please!?
