I don't think that you we are to young (because we are in the same age group).
In my opinion it is good to do some workouts because so you can stay active and healthy also you will have something different to school.
You are not too young. But make sure you use proper form and weights you can control.

I start now! I am 17 now and I regret not trying to lose weight while I was 15 because my parents kept telling me that I was too young to go to a gym.
Nope, but be mindful of the fact that your body is still growing/changing. Make sure your motivation is to be fit and healthy, not mega skinny. Starting a sensible fitness and nutrition plan when you're young will have positive effects on your health for years to come.
I ended up with an eating disorder in high school, and arthritis in my knee at age 17 thanks to a rugby injury.
