How many recovery days are you all scheduling into your workout routine, if at all?

Previously I was working out Monday thru Friday, only resting on weekends. A month or so back I completed a Garmin running program and have since been taking recovery days on Wednesday and Sunday. This came about because running left me very sore and by spreading the recovery days out it allowed me that day after the run to be sore without forcing myself thru a workout the following day. I've since just maintained that rest schedule because it became routine.

Just wondering what works for you all 😊

I am doing a 4 day heavy lifting program, 1 running day, 2 rest days.  I feel this works best for me!

I usually take 2 recovery days a week. However, I do not do it based on a set schedule. I let my body talk to me. It definitely lets me know when I should take a rest day. I lift weights and also run. I set a longer run on the weekends but I am flexible between Sat or Sun. If my body feels depleted, I will take a rest day. It has been working for me. I tried the standard weekend and even 2 days within a 7 day period. It just didn’t give me the recovery I needed. I know it may be unconventional, but it seems to work for me.

It's actually not a bad idea and makes sense, imo. I could see this method being useful. There are definitely some workout days were I'm drained and pushing myself through makes me feel like blah afterwards.

I've been planning work and social life events around my rest days (and so far it's working) so it would be difficult for me to switch it up right now.
