After being misdiagnosed for almost 8 months with Chronic Bronchitis and then being correctly diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure, with over 20lbs of fluid on my heart and lungs. I decided it was time for a healthy change in eating, exercising and just plain living with more love for my wife and children. I stopped all carbonated drinks, sweet teas, sugar loaded drinks. I began to eat boiled, stewed, baked, grilled and steamed foods instead of fried foods. I increased my fruit and vegetable intake while decreasing my portions and drank more water (approx. 60-64oz per day). I also started working out on my home gym, riding an exercise bike and utilizing free weights. I started at first doing about 25-35 minutes about 5 days a week as not to injure myself and have a setback. I now can workout anywhere from 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours at least every other day as to allow a recovery day in between. My goal is 225 lbs and I am almost there. The journey continues as I feel lighter (since I have an artificial hip and knee on left side). I am devoted for the long haul for myself, my wife, our children and grandchildren!
