Push-ups in a day?

How many push ups should i do in total in a day?? And how much break should i take between each set?

As maximum you can handle any time ,rest is no issue .. Just try this 25 pushups per hours morning to night

I sit behind a desk for 8 hours, so I tried doing 25 every 30 minutes. My muscles started to fatigue at hour 6 at first. Then gradually I began to increase until I was doing 50 every half hour. Hour 7 was still the toughest to finish, after that I was done.

No matter what you choose, if you stick with it long enough your body will adapt. Personally I started with doing 25 pushups every hour. Now I'm doing 60 5 times a day. But set your goal and keep working at it. Your body will get there.

When I was in prison I did 400 push-ups every other day. It took me two hours. I would walk one lap around the track between 50 push-up sets.

I started a few years ago at my max. for a single set daily. I started at 70, but quickly worked up by 10%/month.  When I got to 150 in a single set, I realized that my body had adapted and I wasn't getting the bang for my buck anymore.  Now, I do 150/day, but vary the types of push-ups to keep my body guessing.  I do diamond, incline, decline, one leg, off-set, elbows in, spider-man, stuff like that.
