Handstand help

Any suggestions for doing handstands? I've been practicing handstands and other inversions for about 6 months now and haven't been able to get up too often. I've learned two things so far: it's all about the core, not the upper body, and it's best to practice on a rug for when I inevitably fall. Anyone here have any more advice?

Do you have problems kicking up to the handstand or staying up? I'm a gymnastics coach so I at can help. Practice on a wall and try to pull away a little at a tome. Its tough to do

What do you mean by headstand and handstand? Which is which?

Work on  shoulder and arm muscles and that should make it easier to do the handstand trust me I am a gymnast

Make sure you are stable it is all in your core and arms if you are shaking tighten up your stomach .......and release the tension in your arms :)

I like to kick on the wall and walk to the otherside for practice and strength.

Then i am mostly doing headstands at the moment. I think there's more control and i can do it slowly instead of donkey kicking to the wall real quick. The other day I was up for a whole second!
