Hi! Keeping a food log sure helps a lot. I've personally tried it and I lost 3 kgs during one weekend, just by keeping a track of what I was eating and when.

All the best. Just make sure you know about the calorific values of the food you eat.

Actually I've seen how keeping a food log can make people obsess about what they eat. I personally think it's a bad idea but that's not to say it won't workout for you

I agree! It may help to just try it for a while and see if you benefit.  I found it helped me to be more aware of the food I eat, but it became kind of a chore to keep track of everything all the time.

It doesn't help you lose weight, it helps you understand what you're eating and how many calories you're consuming. It's how you react to that information that helps you lose weight. If you're determined and you want genuine results it'll work for you. I've been tracking my calories for 22 days now & been amazed at how many "hidden" calories there are in food

Tracking the amount of food you eat is very important in losing weight. I find it's very easy to under estimate the amount of calories I consume if I don't measure out or weigh out my food. If your serious about losing weight then I suggest you track everything you eat and drink.
