Hi Lisa I'm 43 also new to here and looking for the same thing, looking to get healthy, loose some unwanted pounds, and not hurt myself in the prosess lol, would like to follow nd be supportive

I'm 37 and pushing much harder than when I was  in my 20's .... Goals ? To be stronger, fitter and madder (not sure if that's a word!!) than I was the month before !!! I'm from the UK, am 6'1 and weigh 207lb (I've put on 7lb of muscle in the last 6 weeks)... Think that covers it all ?! Oh ....... AND WE'RE ALL AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

scotty k - good read there..
how did you go about putting on the muscle?
i have always cycled and played footy but never been muscled up if you will..but with doing tough mudder later this year i will be looking to bulk up slightly..
any info appreciated and where in the uk mate?
northwest england here..

But I was telling myself...  I need to do something with my weigh I won't care about my age

Hi Chris, I'm doing tough Mudder in sept.. I'm north east mate.. And I focused on heavy bouts of cardio in jan/feb and started to introduce weights in March.. Since probs beginning of May I've starting lifting heavy weight and increased my protein intake.. I wanna lose probs 15-20lbs of weight now while keeping the definition.. I'll do that with the running needed for Mudder : ))

You are not alone in wanting to take the easy road.  It is human habit.  At least you have taken a positive step by joining this community.  We are here for you.  BTW I'm 38 will be 39 in 4 months.  I think this app is awesome for busy adults like us with real established lives.  Have 30min there is a workout for you, only have 7min thats here to.

I have no secret Rod I just use Oil Of Ulay & have since my teens..it runs in my family but believe me only thing I have to hide is my greys lol had them in my early 20's..can't have it all I guess ;)

Lol Gail...you do look fabulous and young. I get that a lot that ppl can't believe I have a 21 yr old. I guess there are some good genes in there somewhere :)

I'm 47. When I went for a checkup at the doctors' office he asked me about the men in my family who died from high cholesterol, hypertension, etc.
All of them. Except one.
What got him?
A piece of cancer broke off, got stuck in his brain and "gran-mal"-ed him to death. He was the lucky one.
Been active since before '84. But since last year, I've really pushed it. Health, for sure, but also because I hate what I see when the shirt comes off.
It seems I have to work harder, smarter, and eat like a pre-contest bodybuilder just to get the results I'm used to getting. True for you, too?
Oh, I'm a Hoosier,... Sorry.

John I'm a Hoosier also, but live across the river in KY :) Yikes those aren't good odds for you, but good for you for fighting to be healthy and live longer. There's a lot of cancer on my moms side of the family. I will need to be checked very soon. My dads side is all diabetes :(

Lisa I'm 40 and pushing harder then ever. 4 lil ones and they are my biggest motivator. Health is also a concern being happy when I look in the mirror plays a role also.  You have to pin point your give a f*ck factor.   Find out what you GAFF is and use that to drive you to your goals.

Thank you everyone for your comments and inspiration. 

Since being on here just a few days I've managed to get my eating back under control. Am doing the burpee and jumping jack challenge and am feeling so great about my healthy future

Oh and I'm also down 3.4 lbs!!!!! Yay I know it's mostly water weight, but weight is weight an it's helping me feel and stay motivated.

Does anyone here use the app Lose It??? It's where you can track your food?? And weight loss? 

If anyone would like to add me as a friend on there that would be great. I think then you can see what each other are eating and the exercises???

Having a delious fruit smootie for breakfast. All fresh fruit, mango, papaya, pineapple, banana, strawberries, oatmeal, fat free yogurt, and a little cinnamon, and nutmeg, oh yah fat free milk and ice made in the bullet yummy

Hello...I am 37 so I feel you on wanting to be healthy so when I found this app I in was grateful they have someone like you on here....anyways I just made an all natural smoothie.... with protein for breakfast and now I'm starting this workout.
