I do a calorie counter. Myfitnesspal is the one i use. It's free. You can get it as an app or on a browser.
The best diet is to eat whatever you want but count sugar intake and stay away from food high in sodium. Use myfitnesspal to help you keep track of those two main things. Calorie counting is a waste of time. Count sugar. You'll lose up to 10 pounds or more a month just staying in the recommended limit.
