Until about 6 weeks ago I HATED coffee.
Now im slightly addicted. Studying and working 12 hour days 6 days a week has let me to need my caffeine hit. I get a craving every day but I try to fight it off. I have caramel latte and switched to soy to make it "better" but what I want to know, is it bad?? Will it set me back a lot with my training goals??? I had one a week for the first 2 weeks and now im getting maybe 2-3 per week..
Coffee by itself is actually pretty good for you in moderation. High in antioxidants and other goodies. It's when you add creamer and sugar that it's bad for you, or you consume too much caffeine
Yes, soy milk is better.
Well, its recommended that you don't exceed 400mg of caffeine per day (200mg if you're pregnant). Its found that it increases blood pressure. I used to be drinking 12 cups a day earlier. Cut down, for the better, to 2 cups now.
Just so you know your caffeine content per day
A large Americano 300mg
A latte or cup of homemade filtered coffee 150mg
Mug of instant- 100mg
Apart from the above
A can of energy drink(250ml) 80mg
Can of diet cola 42mg
Bar of plain chocolate 50 mg
Having said that a good workout, healthy eating and good sleep should be enough.
I love coffee too but I add creamers so I need to cut back to only 1 cup a day.
I dont really consider caramel latte coffee anymore. But probably thats just me
