Mason Jar Meals _ Healthy Lunches

Mason jar meals are great for those who want to make meals in advance to prevent binge eating... Or that trip to Macdonald's for lunch. On Sundays I grocery shop and prep. This was last week...

Ground Turkey Taco Salad
Krab Salad
Caesar with Chicken

All you need to do is prep your veggies and set aside.

Grab your trusty mason jar.

Add a little dressing to the bottom of the jar (better to use less and adjust if there's not enough.)

Next, add 'sturdy' veggies. I'm talking stuff that can withstand the acidity of the dressing all week in the fridge... Chopped carrots, radishes, celery, bell peppers, snap get the idea.

Next add your protein. (Recipes follow instructions. Possibilities are endless.)

On top add your lettuce, cabbage or spinach and seal up the jar. VoilĂ .

Ground Turkey Taco Salad

12oz ground turkey (cooked and cooled to room temp. I season with cayenne, salt, pepper, and cumin.)
Red bell pepper, chopped
Yellow bell pepper, chopped
Garbanzo beans
Cherry tomatoes (I quarter them.)
Cheddar cheese, shredded
Lettuce, spinach mixture
Crushed tortilla chips (don't put in jar, add when eating. They get mushy.)

Krab Salad

Imitation crab (or real if you've the means.)
Red onion, chopped
Celery, chopped
Carros, chopped
Cherry tomatoes
Lettuce, spinach mixture
Croutons (add day of)

Chicken Caesar

Baked chicken (cooled to room temp and cubed. I use lots of black pepper, a little salt and olive oil.)
Parmesan cheese
Lettuce, spinach mixture

These are just a basic guide. I change things all the time. I also make, pastas, chili and breakfasts. I'm a fast food junky, so this helps me stay on track and save money.

Thanks Cristy for sharing ! Love your idea of mason jars and having them all prep . It's going to be much easier for me having them ready and not playing guessing game of 'what should I cook for today' lol  :)
