Recently went vegan and now getting back to the gym. Need ideas and tips on awesome non-animal foods to eat pre- and post work outs to keep muscles. I'm already thin and flexible, I want to tone up without losing more weight.
I'm a vegan as well some foods to help you tone up are peanuts, quinoa, Chia seeds, leafy greens, lentils, tofu, green peas, almonds, oats, and hemp seeds (they're packed with protein for vegans like us) I just try to mix one or two of those foods in my pre and post workout meal. Hope that helped!
Yeah, any kind of nuts, edamame is awesome, soy/almond/hemp/oat milk, hemp seeds rock, Hummus, and there are tons of vegan protein shakes - and you can make smoothies with silk Tofu and fruits, win win :)
