About Me

Hello, and welcome to my page! My name is Kaitlyn Rucks. I am a certified personal trainer through ISSA and have been certified since January 2017. A little bit about myself: I was born with a neurological disorder called Asperger's syndrome, which means I find it difficult to interact with others. As a child, I had self-esteem issues due to inability to interact with others. Having little to no friends, being bullied lead to me having an eating disorder. When I was 15 I was hospitalized due to my restriction of food intake, purging, and over exercising. These things messed with my body and I finally realized that food was my medicine. I had to beat this monster or it was going to beat me into the grave. I was able to successfully gain the weight back and return home in a better condition. One day I found yoga while I was stuck in one of my obsessive thought processes regarding food and exercise. I thought I was obese and had to lose the weight. I stared doing yoga more and found that my intentions shifted. I started feeling more relaxed! I also started participating in strength training and healthy forms of exercise, which meant I had to eat properly. As my thoughts shifted, I no longer had a negative self-image and I started talking to people more rather than isolating myself at home. One day it dawned on me that I could be a resource for people that are going through the same things I went through. My mission is to help the men and women struggling with eating disorders. I also want to help people with Asperger's and Autism build and establish higher self-esteem and be more confident using healthy eating and exercise habits. My goal is to help people without needing to feel uncomfortable and awkward by attending a public gym. I'm ready to help all people with their fitness journey.
