About Me

My health journey started in high school, through sports and education. In sports, I found myself constantly wanting to know why certain exercises were performed, and physiologically, the consequence of them. In education, my first anatomy class blew me away and sparked a never ending thirst for knowledge about the human body. I went on to get a M.Ed. in Physical Education with a focus on Exercise Physiology.

Hey Reggie Shoot me a private message and let me know what you are currently doing for exercise and nutrition. Try to be as detailed as possible. Exercise performed and things you eat on a day to day basis, or an average week works best.

Are squats with dumbbells as effective as squats with a barbell as far as weighted squats go?

haha thanks Liz! Eric, to a certain extent, yes. In the long run, however, you won't be able to lift as much with dumbbells. A barbell back squat is typically a great route to take when you are working on getting your legs stronger. If all you have is dumbbells though, you can get to the point where you can goblet squat up to around 100 lbs. You will need a 100 lb dumbbell though :)
