About Me

I started out in August 2015 at 238 lbs. Weight-wise, My short term goal is 215 by November 2015, midterm goal is 200 by Spring, and long-term goal is 180, either by my birthday in June or failing that, by fall 2016. Activity goals and landmarks- I want to: be active for at least 30 min a day; become able to do a full push-up; be able to go up three flights of stairs without losing my breath. I'm 35 and live in Western Canada. My strengths are my brain and my empathy, and my weaknesses are cravings (especially at certain points in my cycle), low self-esteem and a tendency towards laziness and losing motivation.

Lesson learned, definitely need to use a mat. Made the mistake of trying to do it on carpet, and it made a difference, my feet kept trying to slide away

Finally took the plunge and signed up for a gym! It's girls only, small and not horribly busy, and it looks like it should be a good fit. Ironically I didn't get to actually work out, as I had to run and pick up my sister, but I didn't want to procrastinate taking that first step any longer! Now I've made a commitment and I know my next steps. :)

1:13. I think I could have done a little bit better if I'd paid more attention setting up; my toes were off the end of the mast and kept sliding on the carpet which messed with my stability.

Plank challenge day 5 done. Side planks are hard. I need to devote more time to setting up my muscles before lifting up. Nearly forgot, had just gone to bed when my phone reminded McD - had to get up and do it!

30 day plank challenge, day 4: done! (Day 3 was a mandated rest day). Feeling good! I'm always a little surprised by how holding one position still can get my heart going. :)

Trying to sneak more activity into daily life again, a habit that I started strong with and have been loading on lately. So - walk to the store, not drive. Get up and go downstairs to talk to my housemate instead of shouting to her. Park further away from the doors of wherever I'm going. It's harder in winter for the outside stuff, but this year we haven't had too many really really cold days, so I'm putting on my big girl pants, lol.

Started the 30-day plank challenge. Day one is just hold it fire as long as you can - I managed one full minute almost on the nose.
