Melissa, I don't have any formal goals. I started exercising intensively 4-5 years ago with the aim of strengthening my core to assist in the treatment of a back injury. That's resolved itself and exercising is now a habit I love & I just keep going & lifting intensity. I had weight to lose & lost it and now just enjoy the early mornings & having time for myself that I don't get during the day.

Don't forget about “Non-Scale Victories!" We know all too well that pounds don’t define progress. One pound of muscle is three times smaller than one pound of fat, so you can gain weight and lose inches at the same time! Your success is dependent on how good you feel, how consistent you are and how healthy you become. If you can run longer, lift heavier, fit into favorite jeans, overcome sugar cravings, run a 5k or confidently wear a bikini – then it’s a victory!

I am 50 years old and have lived be the scale foe 38 years it controls my mood. I have gained a lot of weight in the last 3 years and it freaks me out. Any advise other than tossing the scale

Hi Dawn! I hear ya about living by the scale. Us women tend to look at those 3 numbers as our self worth. Those 3 numbers consume our minds everyday and it SUCKS! Maybe start setting some small weekly goals. Try on a pair of shorts that don't fit well and at the end of the week, put them back on to check your progress. And keep going till you feel comfortable in them. :)

Hey there! For those that don't know me, I wanted to take a sec to share a few things. As you can see, I'm a Personal Trainer. I'm certainly no bikini model or competitor (I'm not on here to show my abs). I like teaching women how they can get fit right from home. I eat a lot of Mexican food and enjoy Butterfinger blizzards with my kids with zero regrets. I believe in moderation and nothing too extreme.
