About Me

I am an ACSM certified personal trainer and ACE certified Health Coach. My training background of over 14 years has been at the YMCA, Jewish Community Center, park districts and private clubs. I have successfully guided my clients to lifestyle changes resulting in weight loss and increased muscle tone with Health Coaching and Strength Training. An RRCA certified running coach, I train athletes for distance running. I have coached junior high cross country and I have trained many individuals for races from 5K to marathon distance. In addition, I have trained with Lee Saxby on barefoot running technique. My running career began at age 40. I have run 45 marathons in 35 states. I have qualified for the Boston Marathon several times and completed it four times. My goal is to finish a marathon in each of the 50 states.

BE PREPARED. Here in Florida, it means are you stocked with food, water and gasoline for the impending hurricane. For those of you working to maintain or enhance your health, it means having nutritious foods available, drinking water and surrounding yourself with like minded people. Exercise and be healthy and you will BE PREPARED to face your daily challenges.

Exercise isn't all fun and games. Prevent exercise related injuries by warming up, cooling down, using proper gear and listening to your body. Most importantly, hire a personal trainer to learn proper technique.

The heat and humidity of summer can take its toll on you. When exercising outdoors, weigh yourself before and after your workout. Make sure you drink enough water and/or electrolyte beverage to recover from your loss.

My last marathon was in October in Baltimore. When was your last race or are you still trying to motivate yourself for that very first step? Nothing speaks more to me than the change of seasons.
