Ever hear of those kids that at age 10 can lift a car up? Well, that wasn't me. In fact, at age 15 I may be the least likely person to get into the fitness business. As a teenager, I was tall, skinny, very weak and suffered from asthma. Very unhappy with myself and no solution in sight. Back then the Doctors would tell patients not to exercise. To make a long story short, one day I decided they didn't know what they were talking about. I started devouring any and every book and magazine on lifting weights. I headed to the local recreation center and started training. It was the hardest thing I ever did but through trial and error, I started making progress. I fondly remember those days because that was the first time in my life I had a defined goal and I achieved it. Everything I have today can be traced back to that one fateful day when I decided the world was wrong about me. Don't get me wrong, I will never be the biggest or baddest. I don't care about about that. What I care about is being happy and what makes me happy is being healthy and enjoying life. Lifting weights make me happy. A nice glass of bourbon makes me happy. Good BBQ makes me really happy. The point is this, getting in shape is very subjective. My job is to make it fit into your life so you can do the things you want to do and be happy with yourself.
