Weight Loss / Water or lemon water

For some reason, I've heard lemon water is actually better for you somehow. That's what I drink if I have any fresh lemons. As far as quantity, I aim for at least 64 ounces a day.

The lemons act as a diuretic which helps you lose extra fluid by peeing more. That's about the only difference.

20 Somethings / What's your exact age,height and goal weight?

I'm 28 years old, 5'2" tall, and my ultimate goal weight is 115. I have a ways to go.

Motivation & Support / Tone my belly N lose its fat! help me?!

I follow you now ... and did two workouts via this app, both which incorporated several ab workouts in them (which I wasn't really expecting). I had the Abs Attack on my docket but I'm saving that for another day, my abs got a workout today anyway.

Nice, I really like the pilates one on here really works the abs and butt. I'll post the link later on today. Keep up the good work :-) nice to have some one else doing the same target areas

Motivation & Support / Is Soreness A Good Thing?

Yes, I think if you aren't getting sore at all, you have to kick it up a notch. You should definitely feel some tiny bit of pain after a workout. I've been sore all week since my first workout (in a long time) on Tuesday, but I've done a lot of stretches and worked through it (mindful to not pull anything). 

Congrats on not being sore in your current workouts, because that means you accomplished and kicked booty at that level. Just kick it up a notch now. :)

Motivation & Support / NO excuses! None!

The key to getting fit and losing weight is discipline. This week I decided to rejoin a gym and restart my workout and diet routine. This is also the week I have my "lady friend", which cuases me to feel fatigued, get migraines, and overall feel really icky and lack energy. Last night and this morning I woke up feeling terrible. I laid down for awhile and while I don't feel great, I feel a little better. So I'm going to do the workouts as planned, despite how I feel. I'll get through them and probably lay down for most of the day afterwards, but no excuses! Anyone can work out for a few minutes a day, under any circumstance! You can do it!

If you can muster the motivation to start, usually working out ends up helping me feel better after, cramps and stuff ease up a bit. Good luck!

Workouts and Programs / Workout Music

Do you use your smartphone or iPod (Touch) for music? I'd assume you do, so I recommend an app called Songza. They have playlists for every occasion and mood, and have several workout playlists premade. Pandora is great too of course. Otherwise, I use TuneIn Radio and listen to Energy 106.9 here in Milwaukee -- very few commercials, almost all up beat songs.

Welcome Wagon / Lets get to know each other

I'm Lindsey, 27 years old, living in Milwaukee Wisconsin. I am a licensed high school Social Studies teacher but have not been able to find a teaching job yet. I have a 13 year old cat I rescued when she was 8 years old and I love her dearly. I'm a huge animal lover and go to the zoo on a regular basis. I also love music and have very diverse taste. I'd also love more people to follow on here -- I will follow back!!

Welcome Wagon / How many times a week do you all workout ?

On some level I exercise every day. At the very least it's a 60-90 minute walk with my dad. But on days I JUST walk, I consider that a rest day. I do strength training every other day, but I "make the rounds" on day 1 and then on day 3 I focus on a specific area (legs or abs usually) and then on day 5 I'm back to "making the rounds". I'm plateau-prone so I try to mix everything up as often as possible.

Well i started off with 5 workouts a day on my first day, which was yesterday and now I did 6 today because I add one workout everyday so Tomorrow will be seven :) I think that answers it, Everyday!

I'd love to buy programs, but I already upgraded to Pro and that was enough for now. Once I get a FT job I might not be able to fight the desire to buy them though. I think there are enough routines through this app to satisfy me though. So much variety!!

Help / Can I edit my location during my workouts?

I just did the Simple Yoga Stretches and when I went to log it, it automatically put me at my gym (but I'm at home). I'd rather it say "Home" or nothing at all. Can I fix it or is it too late? If it's too late, how can I fix it in the future?

Women's Locker Room / My thighs and muffin top are out of control

My stomach and thighs are where all my fat settles too. It's so frustrating and takes such a long time to see results on the scale (and I even think to the naked eye). But, I'm not worrying abuot the scale as much as I am worrying about width. I measured my stomach and thighs yesterday and in 2 weeks of going to the gym and strength training, I hope I see a difference on the tape measure.

Just wanted to comment here, despite not having any true tips, to say I feel your pain and good luck!

Welcome Wagon / Runners here?

I'd like to be a runner. The first time I tried to get in shape I ran two 5Ks (2011) ... but I've never really considered myself a good runner. I certainly want to get there, though. A long term goal of mine is to run a Half Marathon. I'm building up my endurance with 30 minute jogs at the gym when I finish strength training.

Motivation & Support / Jillian Michaels 30 day shred

I own four of Jillian's DVDs -- the Shred, Ripped In 30, Six Week 6 Pack and Killer Buns & Thighs. I find her workouts really intense but will try them again in a month or so when I'm a little more in shape. 😄

Welcome Wagon / New :)

Downloaded the app yesterday; upgraded to Pro this morning. Intend on doing home workouts every other day and doing the weight machines at the gym the other days. I'm a licensed teacher from Wisconsin and have a cat. I'd love friends to hold me accountable and to encourage others!
