Motivation & Support / Vegetarians?im leaning to be one(:

What do u eat in place of protein?I don't want to lose my muscles. I am leaning towards being a vegetarian. I eat mostly chicken & fish. I can eat only veggies/fruits with no problem. But need insight on where to get my protein?

I'm trying to become vegetarian too. Some things I have learned that have lots of protein are lentils, they make an amazing soup, quinoa, that's probably not how you spell it I've never tried them, different beans, and because the interest of vegetarian/vegan diets have gone up there are so many meat alternatives like tofurky, people say it takes exactly like Turkey, tofu, tempeh, you should Google it there are many more places you can get protein than you think. There's also protien shakes. :-)

Motivation & Support / SQUATS...lowerback pain

I have been researching & its leading me to sciatic nerve but that's not what I have. When I put pressure on my back e.g.squats with barbell on back,when I squat its a sharp pain in my lower left back. Hurts when I lean forward or back. Can't so weighted squats right now,just sticking to lunges/Bulgarian lunges for now. Suggestions? Anyone experienced this??

Hey, you really need to concentrate on having proper form when doing squats as incorrect form can lead to endless knee and back problems so start off by doing bodyweight squats only -no barbells or dumbbells..when squatting it's important to kind of let your butt lead you and not let your knees trail over your toes and put all your weight on your heels as you squat. Best thing is to put a chair behind you (or imagine one) and squat down onto it. Seems easy to most people but most people do it wrong and this leads to all...

My squats are excellent,have the correct form. Been doing this for years,but here lately there is pain when I do anything involving my lower back.......

I used to squat 150+ but here lately hVent been able to do that due to my back...I'm just going to take it easy

Motivation & Support / CARDIO vs WEIGHTS. what is your routine like?

Cardio days on Tuesdays & Thursdays. Weight training Mondays,Wednesdays,&Fridays. Weekend I either rest or do 15-20minutes of some sort.πŸ˜„

Motivation & Support / A little down:/ cheer me up(:

I've ate too much Thanksgiving. Turkey,ham,greens &dressing foe 3days. Lunch &dinner. Including cakes for 2days. I haven't worked out since thanksgiving morning due to working 12hours. This move is so not me. Need help on preventing this from happening again-i don't like the feeling. I now have a little pudge:/

Worst time of year is the holidays. To me it's all mental. I just make a plan and stick to it. Go running or hit a HITT in the morning so your metabolism is peaked at that point. Then eating your way through Christmas will be easier.

Wow! I logged in to post the same thing! I'm really going through it right now! I'm trying to get myself back in the game and it's hard to get motivated again. Now Christmas is around the corner! I can feel that I've gained weight back, smh! But, I will not jump on a scale, lol!

I'm trying to gain MORE muscle/definition in my quads,and all of my gluteous area(:. I love ZUMBA,I do an hour on Tuesdays &Thursdays. I can say I am losing my butt;(;(..

Is it best for me to knock out an hour or continue with 20-30min of pure cardio a week? How much is too much cardio if I'm trying to gain muscle. I go heavy on legs(60-90lbs)

What protein bar is best. As a snack and/or meal replacement?? all the bars I've seen are HIGH in sugar. Protein out weighs the sugar-yes! But what if its 30g protein 21g sugar? That high number of sugar is what I don't like

Thanks u all. The comments & support helps a lot. Tony-what kind of protein bar u suggest? When I look for a protein bar they r so HIGH in sugar. I avoid them. Protein outweighs the sugar. So is 25g protein 21g sugar ok?

Eat fruits early in the day(morning-lunch). Digestion is a one lane highway. Protein &starches=Big Dumptruck,Fruits=SpeedCar...If u put a dumptruck(protein, starch) in front of speedcar(fruits) the speedcarbis going to crash into the dumptruck. Then it does not digest,fruit THEN turns into sugar=weight gain. Fruit itself DOES NOT make u fat, its what u put in front of it:)

I pretty much stick to it, just by being conscious of what I eat and I try to do workout routines 3-4 times a week, mainly bc I'm at a job where I'm already standing and walking a lot so I'm burning calories that. The days I'm not scheduled to workout or the day I do the biggest focus on nutrition in terms of am I going to burn enough calories for the day. On my workout days, yes I still focus but I know I'll burning quite a bit more calories. Either way, nutrition is the key to weight...

Which do u prefer? I knew a female fitness model that couldnt eat oatmeal for bfast bc by the time lunch time came her thighs were bigger due to oatmeal sticking to her thighs now she eats Quinoa. Ive ate 2 bowls of plain oatmeal today..it doesnt do anything to me so far but everytime i eat oatmeal i think of what it does to the fitness model. Has anyone ever experienced that??

Do u consider chicken wings tossed around in Buffalo sauce a cheat meal? I ate 11 wings with cucumbers & tomatos on the side. I am feeling guilty about this which is strange.

Jump rope is my favorite cardio and circuit training routine. my calves have grown from jump rope..u have to do different moves bc ur legs will adjust to the basic jump rope. How is ur experience?

I want to keep my curves(semi-thick thighs &booty) BUT i love Cardio:) doing cardio make me lose my curves:( so i went back to doing heavy weights focusing on lower body. Any Suggestions on how to maintain my curves. Ive done my research cia internet but i want to hear advice from somebody who has experience. I would rly appreciate it:) GOD BLESS!

Try Fluidity and yoga this helps keep you slender well still maintaining your curves strength training and a nutritional diet like high protein oatmeal and nothing processed all fresh foods :)
