Welcome Wagon / Sore knees doing squats

Knees are the worst hands down. I've got Patellar Tendinitis or just Jumpers Knee, so I know your pain. Typically though whenever I get pain I work with less weight and more reps (toning) or go running. But when you feel the pain, always stretch to ease it up a bit (expecialy before). God Bless

Welcome Wagon / App Help

No I think your right. It's a separate app so it most likely doesn't run without Bluetooth unless you somehow save or download your workouts or use data. I'm not %100 sure though but I think your right.

You might have to test with it a little more and mess around to see what you CAN use.

Motivation & Support / Single handedly most important.

What is the single handedly most important tip/think to do or remember when working out and getting were you want to get? (Stretching, never give up, diet, explosive workouts, ect...) To go more in detail, my goal is to dunk a bball by next year. I can about touch the rim and I'm like 5'7 and a Sophomore. Do tons of bodybuilding, martial arts, and stuff like that, but basketballs my favorite (am I'm REALLY good at it) so I wouldn't want to give up on playing or any goals.

Motivation & Support / Flexing

What does flexing do for your muscles and body? I heard that it could help you out, or that it's useless. Not sure, you know?

Body Building / Shrugs?

Well reps also play a part in this. I would start around 30 lbs and work my wake up. But try to do like 25 of each or something.

cool thanks I'll give that a go :-)

Motivation & Support / Protein Extra?

I kinda obviously the gist of what protein and protein shakes are for, but what do they really do? Like WheyProtein. Some people say it just gives you the fat you burn off, others say it gives you calories back, and some say that it helps your body build muscles, and get stronger. Your opinion on which (if not, what) method is correct? Explain what it truly does and its possible benefits vs not using.

Not sure what exactly you mean, but I got a Galaxy S6, and some of my workouts say they sync to my S Health when I'm done with them.

Motivation & Support / Patellar Tendinitis

How can I strengthen or heal my Patellar Tendon? I play basketball for like a few hours everyday, but I cant play to my full potential because my patellar tendons don't seem very healthy, even when the pain is gone. It comes and goes, but I really want it to be gone once and for all right away. Any tips? I don't even jump as high as I could because of this issue, and I don't know how if I can maybe get it strong enough were I can play to my full potential and possible even do intense workouts on my legs.

Motivation & Support / What should be the rest interval between abs exercise weekly

Well to be honest. From my experience. You don't have to rest all the time, in fact you can work out different parts of your body even the next day over.

Chest, obliques, shoulders, all upper body, ect... But if your just talking about abs and just want to mainly focus on them, than...it depends how sore you feel, and how much you actually worked out.

Normally I work out until I get sore. And normally you feel it for ONE to THREE days. But if you still feel like you can work out before then, than nobodies stopping you. The nice thing about abs and obliques are, that there are more than one of them , so you can depend on your stomach not ripping up if you slightly over work out.

But seriously though, do only what you can do. Once you do an awesome workout, and you feel it, rest from one to three days off.

You can work on something in the mean while (Ex. Working on your chest, and than while that's sore you can work on abs and vice versa. But make sure you eventually take a few days rest for both of them, 2 to 4 days typicly.).

Normally the second day is when you'd stop feeling intense pain of soreness. But then is your time for better judgment. If you feel you can take it on, than go for it. Three days is just on the safe side. It really depends on you and how your body responds. But good luck, I hoped this helped you.

God Bless

Motivation & Support / So...Protein?

Ok, I'm being honest here. I'm 15 years young, about 125lbs(...i think...), and havn't done many real exercises this summer. I have always been fit ever since I was a kid. I've always had a six pack, and I always used to be stronger than other kids my age. I used to be shorter as well, but I now became almost taller than kids my age now due to what I concluded was basketball .

So being honest, I don't constantly work out, maybe like once or twice every 3 weeks.

Defining working out as like true weight lifting and stuff.

I've really been sweating a lot and playing basketball every now and then, so maybe some normal activity.

I'm wondering why exactly am I staying so fit, and if I could be even MORE so if were to be cautious of what I eat.

As far as my diet has been going...

Not the most of healthiest foods to be honest. In fact unhealthy.

So the question is...

Why exactly am I staying so toned and fit, when I don't give my calorie or fat intake much thought? Could it be metabolism? Is it that I'm just not reaching my full potential by not giving myself a eating plan? How much do dieting and meal plans have an effect on you or me, and could it make a difference in my case? Is it a cleaver choice to start now? Is there a reason I'm staying fit, and if so "What is it?"
Lol So those are the questions.

Thanks for your feedback, and Good Luck.

Welcome Wagon / Running & cross-training

Now, this may not have everything to do with marathons, but...bro, if you ever want an awesome rush; you can just hike to the top of a trail or like a mountain, (stretch good before you do of course) and free run down the whole thing. Just running and jumping over rocks and roots, super fun. You'd go fast, but it's so fun, that you wouldn't even need to take a break. You can go at your own pace, and continue to go until you reach flat ground, were you can continue to run for however long you want. Just a fun runners idea from one athlete to another. I play basketball, so honestly I do more sprinting that jogging, but for a good jump start to a run, free running is always fun.

Women's Locker Room / Intimidated by bros

Ok well, I kinda get the awkwardness your feeling, but it's not like there gonna jump you or whatever. Just be cool with them. If you think you need to talk to them or something, just make up some weird conversation , kinda like ask them how a machine works or something. You can motivate them and chances are they won't mind you. If you don't like the mess that they make, than don't clean it up. Let them get themselves in trouble. I mean you can talk to the manager if you feel things are getting out of hang. Just say excuse me and smile. You need to give respect to get it. Another good idea is to bring a friend or find a workout partner so you don't feel so out of place. If all else fails, just be polite and smile and mine your own business. Hopefully it won't get to the point were you would need to talk to the manager of the gym, but just be polite and encouraging.

Motivation & Support / Tendotis !!!! Need help

I feel you. I'm sorry if this reply is particularly short, but I'm ticked off because I just wrote an awesome reply and it was all deleted. So basicly. I used to play basketball, and I had really bad patellar tendonitis. I mean so bad, that I couldn't even squat once with no weight on my back! But turns out what I found was the best help to me was serious rest. I know you've probably heard this a million times but the RICE treatment is the best to relieve pain. I'm talking about majorly freezing your tendons, tightly wrapping your knees, and elevating your legs above a pillow or something. The pain is real, I feel you, but if take the time and it seriously, the RICE treatment is the  best for pain relief no doubt. Sometimes when I get mad I just go all in and do squats legs hurting and all. But also, before you do that treatment, try stretching and massaging your tendons. Again sorry if this sounds confusing or weird like unprofessional lol, but this is the second time I have to type this so I hope you can feel my pain too . God Bless

Pretty sure this is a work out app you should stop trying to force religion on everyone.

Uh, is fighting depression part of working out? This is a free country, if I want to preach I have the freedom of speach, and if this is offensive to you or anybody else, you are welcome to leave.
06 Aug
Actually yeah working out and being active does fight depression. I'm just saying everyone is entitled to their beliefs.

Well so does Christianity and God.

And quite trying to act like your better than everyone else. I mean please, that kinda trash has been done to death. Grow up and hit the real world. God Bless

Teen Zone / Thoughts on being gay or bisexual?

Love is love I agree, and the Bible elaborates on that. But saying sexual love is for all? NOW COMMON?!?! You just played yourself right there Bruh. You can love your neighbor, you can have a brotherly love, but you can't have a sexual love with just anyone. Oposite sex. Common people. Did you all just lose common sense like 2 years ago? What, you think nowadays actions don't have consequences? No you need to learn some reality people. The worlds coming to an end, and all you can worry about is being popular or be with the group. NO! Shut Up. Stop being dumb on purpose and learn to mature like a human being. Not bugs on the Earth that truely have no different sex.

All were trying to do is save you idiots from going to hell, but you obviously don't want to. Gods real, oh he's very real; and the devil knows it. His time is short as heck. Why else do you think all these killings are happening? Look up scientific reasons why the Bible is real and true. I mean PROPHESIES are coming true! Don't tell me that its just a fairytale cause thats just sad...people know it, they just choice themselfs over they're creator. It's your choice from here. God Bless

Teen Zone / Thoughts on being gay or bisexual?

Geez, I wish I could have gotton in this action a LONG time ago. But most of you people are morons. The facts are, that if you believe and live in homosexuality, than I think your pretty much going to hell. The Bible specifically says:

“Do not practice homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman. It is a detestable sin. 23. “A man must not defile himself by having sex with an animal. And a woman must not offer herself to a male animal to have intercourse with it. This is a perverse act."
Leviticus 18:22‭-‬23 NLT
http://bible.com/116/lev.18.22-23.NLT.

Thought I would just through the next verse in there too. But yeah, its a sin punishable by an eternal sentence to hell unless you ask for forgivness. A lot of people think its ok, and that you are who you are, but thats IDIOCY. Just being plain ol stupid. Look at your body parts if your confused morons . I mean its not that hard. Stop trying to be special or individual. Get your life straight with God. Use your brain.
