Weight Loss / So flippin pumped!

Woke up this morning and stepped on the scale and it was 122 for the 3rd day in a row, so im *officially* owning it. Thats after having my 4th child in September and being 160 after i had him. I only have a few more pounds to go to get back to my pre baby body. I feel absolutely amazing and even more motivated to stick with my diet and workout program! Slow and steady really does win the race! )

Motivation & Support / Motivation board

I finally got around to making my motivation board (How awful is it that it took me 3 days to get motivated to do THAT? lol)

So...here's what I've got posted at the moment:

*Skinny girls look good in clothes. Fit girls look good naked.

*OBSESSED is a word the lazy use to describe DEDICATED

*You're only one workout away from a good mood

*Eat clean, train mean, become limitless

*I may not be perfect, but parts of me are pretty awesome (gotta love that one lol)

*You don't get what you want. You get what you work for.

*Small daily improvements are the key to staggering long-term results

*One minute of kissing burns 26 calories. No wonder those sluts are so damn skinny.

*"Wow I really regret that workout."-No one. EVER.

*Fit is not a destination. It is a way of life.

***(My personal favorite) Be *that* girl at the gym, the woman that other women watch because they want to know what routine makes a body look that damn good.

And that's what keeps me going! P.S...you can find all of these simply by typing in 'inspirational fitness quotes' on google and going to the images. They have soooo many to get you pumped!

I just took mine, printed them on cardstock, cut them out, and put them on one of thoses photo boards and hung it up. Just posted a pic as well. Simple, but oh so effective!

Get your motivation on, lovelies!!!

During sex you burn as many calories as running 5 miles.... But who the hell can run 5 miles in 30 seconds ?!?!?!

Diet & Nutrition / Vegans?

I'm not a huge kale fan, so I juice it instead. I make sure to take my vitamins (I have ones with omega 3 and dha supplements). I haven't lost a lot as far as pounds (only 10 so far) but i can definitely see the difference and i feel amazing. I wake up in the morning full of energy and when I'm done eating I don't feel blah like before. I know it's not for everyone, but this is by far the best I've ever felt! Before changing my eating habits I was severely depressed. I just moved away from home recently for the first time (hubby is military) and being away from everyone I know and having 4 kids is a lot, but now I'm so ready to take on the day! I never could have imagined how much my diet was impacting my mood. I'm loving every second of my life now and can't wait to see the long term results.

Diet & Nutrition / Vegans?

The easiest thing for me (bc I was def a fast food junkie lol) was to start by eating only fruits and veggies for a week. I did some juicing and when I got really hungry I would make a spinach salad with matchstick carrots, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, a little olive oil and some salt and pepper or I'd steam some broccoli and carrots. That was usually enough to satisfy me. After that week, I added more solid foods back into my diet. Going from eating a big mac and fries with a coke to eating a boca burger on a whole wheat bun with broccoli would have probably been too hard for me, but after having only juice and a few salads it tasted amazing!! You really do have to retrain you're taste buds first. I also like veggie fajitas! I sautee some onions, bell peppers and mushrooms and throw them in a spinach wrap with some guac, pico, and vegan cheese with a side of brown rice and black beans. You'll be so full you won't even miss the meat!! The cheeses taste great too! There are tons of vegan blogs you can get ideas from too. I wanted to make vegan eggplant parm and didn't know how to do an eggwash without egg or how to make vegan ricotta, so I googled it and found some awesome recipies from people that have been doing it a lot longer than I have and know all the tricks. So, google away and get eating! :)

Diet & Nutrition / Vegans?

Michael, if you're really interested in adopting a vegan diet, 'The Food Revolution' by John Robbins is a great place to start! That book and 'Skinny Bitch' really changed my life!

Diet & Nutrition / Vegans?

Thanks, Josh!! My goals on here would first be to lose some of my extra baby weight. It seems harder and harder to do after every pregnancy, i swear! Lol! I've lost a lot from my diet change alone, but I know working out will be the key to having my old body back and I just feel better when I work out(my legs would probably beg to differ right now because they're so insanely sore, but I love that feeling too). There are so many great workouts on here and I can't wait to get started! :)

Diet & Nutrition / Vegans?

Amanda, if you really want to juice I'd suggest watching 'Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead' on netflix. It's all about juicing. To answer your question, yes, you do need an actual juicer to do it. Juicers give you only the juice the friuits and vegtables produce and take out all of the pulp and fibers. The reason this is so effective is bc your body isnt having to use all of its energy to digest all of that so it can use that energy to clean you out and you are still getting tons of nutrients! There are also tons of juicing recipies online to make it easier. When i started, i bought a cheap one from walmart (around $40) to make sure i really liked it and upgraded to the Magic Bullet Juicer for Christmas ($80). The more expensive ones produce more juice, get more pulp out, and usually have wider mouths so you dont have to prechop all of your veggies, which is much more convienient. Hope this helps!

Diet & Nutrition / Vegans?

How awesome to find like minded people here!! I recently became vegan a few weeks ago after having my 4th baby. I was looking for a good vegetarian book to read and found 'Skinny Bitch'. I had no idea it was vegan, but it completely converted me. I can't imagine ever going back to meat/dairy! I feel so much more alive. Its just increible! I juice for breakfast/lunch and have a veggie feast for dinner. I couldnt be more satisfied AND im losing weight in a way that will actually be sustainable. Love it! Now just gotta start working out to really lose this baby fat! Lol
