Workouts and Programs / I have a question?

As long as you are getting enough rest. Eatting right. Not over training which is possible w.o weights if you aren't doing the above.

With your schedule I think you'd honestly be better off doing a four day split. Buy some dumbells (20-25lbs) . And make a routine for a four day split with those. That way you don't have to kill yourself. And you'll still see the benefits of working out.

If you need help making a routine let me know. Good luck brotha

Thanks man and I'd like buy some dumbbells but all my money goes to bills right now. I think I got a good routine Cruz before my son I worked out all the time so I know fitness but Im Use to a gym and being able to workout for a couple of hours so I didn't know what results to except from 30 min even though I bumped up the intensity

Diet & Nutrition / Protein

Protein amount is always at least on gr. Per lb. I do 1.5 x lbs. As long as you are getting it from low fat sources it should be fine. Even if you are cutting not bulking.  Just gotta make sure you are getting enough cardio. Which also depends on your body type.  I'm an ectomorph. So I do 30 minutes a day. Combine that with LIFTING.  You gotta hit the weights and actually use the protein for repair and building.  Or your body will just store what you don't use. Which is why you cant see that six pack prolly . (Just a guess) if you don't use it you gain it and lose the potential muscular gains.

Welcome Wagon / How many hours should a person sleep.?

7-9 hrs is the scientifically proven amount. Thats useless however if you don't have a couple things such as : a healthy or stable diet, vitamin and nutrition wise you are balanced and if you do workout you need to make sure to not over do it. If you think you are doing all that, just try taking a vitamin b pill. Niacin is a provin sleep helper , so try that.

I normally sleep about 7 but all the sudden it's 9 1/2 but I'm waking up ready to go. I've always woke up groggy. Now I'm ready to work out and get my day going.

20 Somethings / Its hard :/

Small goals is one of the best way. People constantly "go big or go home " right off the bat. Which would be fine but for 90% of the population gives up after two weeks to a month with thar mind set. Don't make your first goal " I'm gonna lose thirty pounds " that's just idiotic. As a "long term" goal, that's fine, but not as your first goal. Make your goals simple like : I wanna be able to do five more sit ups , five more push ups. , be able to run another .1 of a mile in the same amount of time. Or lose three pounds then five then six and so on. If you make it more mentally satisfying, it will be less physically challenging and less of a hurdle but more of a fun time . If you need any advice just ask me Anytime.

20 Somethings / Need Advice.

Cardio is your best friend for the goals that you want. Id start there, pure cardio. After getting used to that id add some weight lifting, not heavy , just light weights for toning. As far as diet goes, there's many ways to do it. I'd do some research and see what's best for your lifestyle. Experiment with different diets . Not everyone can do it the same way afterall :) if you need anymore advice just ask me :)

Health Conditions / More pain, more effective

No its not true at all. While pain is somewhat attributed to progress . It isn't exactly linked,. It's your body growing and adapting to your routine. So of you do the sane routine every time you workout * let's say three days a week * then after a while , you will be less and less sore. Eventually not at all. That's why its always smart to switch your routine up every 6-12 week's . Another assumption is that "the pump" means you got a good workout, but that's also a myth. I can do 100 reps on a row with 5 lbs and feel an amazing pump but that doesn't mean I progressed . Just a build up of lactic acid . To get the best results. Switch your routine now and then and do 8-12 reps *proper form* when weight training. Any other questions just ask.

I just started working out few days ago plus cardio. And now I feel pain on both thighs, so I'm planning to rest for this day but I'm feeling guilty of it. Because before I started my routines, I promised myself not to stop and continue until I'll reach my goals. Since you've told me to have atleast a day of rest, it helps me alot to decide. Thank you!

If you just started, remember turtles don't win races but they do finish them. No rush, take it easy . Don't start with intense crazy workouts trying to" jump in " that's how ppl get hurt. Slow n steady. :)

Health Conditions / Foot pain/numbess

If your feet hurt a lot, put a tennis ball on the floor and massage your foot with it. Rolling it back and forth , this helps me a lot. Since my feet occasionally hurt after jogging a lot .

Motivation & Support / Stomach workout

Honestly, yes planks of course xD but. Make sure to combine that with cardio. Burn . Then build . Burn ..thennnnn...build . There's a many ways to do this. The two most effective ways I know of are : A. Run, jog, treadmill, jump rope aka active cardio and after that do an Ab routine. Or B . Do HiiT training, high intensity interval training * the "i's" might be reversed? " . Which is essentially type a jampacked into one session but at a more intense pace. I do both personally depends on my phase . :) hope this helps :)

Diet & Nutrition / The 5:2 Diet. Intermittent Fasting.

It's amazing but I prolly couldnt do it. I'm on a mass lean gain program already . I do high protein. Middle amount of complex carbs. Low fat . It works amazing for me, huge gains not on weight but in the gym . But in thirty days I switch to cut n high rep. Which I'm pumped to do . All body weight and plyo wooh.

Diet & Nutrition / Snacks

The list could go on forever and it differs depending on your goals. Water is an obvious must. Almonds are great for either because they are good carbs and high in protein. Bananas are amazing for after or for breakfast, they help a lot with soreness. Food wise : chicken breast and salmon . High protein low carbs And relatively cheap . Peanut butter isn't too bad in moderation. Greek yogurt is great for post or pre workouts! .  Hmm there's a lot more but I don't wanna make this huuuuge msg. Lol

05 Sep
Thanks!! Im focusing more on getting toned

If you don't mind, I have no trouble with you making this message huge. I just did my workout. Off for a peanut butter banana sandwich!

Women's Locker Room / Yoga pants: Too sexy/distracting?

Honestly, when I'm at the gym. It's about working on myself and MY body. I look in a mirror at myself, concentrating on my form . Plus if there's no mirror, I have headphones on anyway. Now I'm not saying IN BETWEEEN sets I don't peak at what's around me. For me though its not a distraction, bit motivation. Work hard, get it done and never give up !

Body Building / What do you guys think?

Depends on what you mean by flat . As in a six pack or just smooth ? Either way . Cardio like crazy . Jumping rope, planks, jogging, step ups . Anything of that nature. :)

Yeah thanks, I just want it smooth flat

Diet & Nutrition / A gallon of water a day

Actually the easier way to get your water intake up, is drink smaller amounts in higher quantity. Also as stupid as this sounds, use a straw. It feels like you are drinking less mentally. I always get at least 80oz doing it this way. 8 oz to 12 oz cups . :) good luck

Challenges / Maximum push ups in 2 minutes for 30 days -who is in

Just throwing my opinion out there buttt I'm training for pt. Military training. And you all would see much better results doing this every other day. Like MWF. Cuz the muscles will have time to rest and grow. I'm at 70 on my two minutes.

18 Aug
Point well taken. I thought 24 hrs are enough for recovery.
