Motivation & Support / Fast abs

No such thing sorry.  Abs take time,  dedication and an excellent diet.  The most you can expect to achieve in 2 wks is maybe losing a bit of body fat over them with a v healthy diet and lots of cardio

Motivation & Support / What to do? :)

I used to game lots before kids.  I started doing a bit of working out daily such as pushups and such one day.  Once i started seeing the physical difference it made i was hooked.  From then on i allocated more time to working out and gane when i have an hour or so spare.

I would say start socialising more.  Join a team,  go swim etc.  Get yourself out of your man cave and see what is out there to motivate you.  Join a gym with pals.......  Etc etc.

I wish i had your amount of free time.  Don't squander it....

Motivation & Support / LET'S TALK PROTEIN SHAKES

I have one shake daily of high protein zero carb stuff.  I make the usual with banana,  peanut butter etc.

The purpose is purely to bump those calorie and protein intake up.   The majority of protein for me comes from meat etc

Teen Zone / How to do pull ups

I would forget the advice to do them imperfectly.   Imperfect form leads to injury.  Quality over quantity.

Use Progressions of pullups to build the necessary strength until you can do full ones.  Don't risk injury by taking poor advice

Okay thanks but the Scooby guy is really helpful but I have sore mussels where my six pack would be lol

Welcome Wagon / Try and do a 4 min plank?

Good job.  Takes some doing.  I remember hitting that Mark myself and how pleased i was.  Up to around 8.5 now.

04 May
How can you do it that long,4 mins is my limit
04 May
For now it is your limit. Keep practicing and 4 Minutes will become easy and then you can push for longer
04 May
You'll get there, Anthony! You're doing tremendous progress with your planks all the time.

Motivation & Support / APRIL'S COMING - TIME TO BUILD SOME MUSCLE!!

Looks like a plan mate.

I have been working on using slower reps to increase hypertrophy on my sets.  Slow downward phase and explosive up phase.

Time under contraction massively affects muscle tearing and ultimately building.

Not sure how that would translate into your workout routine but thought it was worth mentioning cos its working for me!  I dropped to 182lb a few months back and I am back up to around 190lb now and looking slimmer than ever.

Love changing the rep speeds mate but it's too much of a pain in the ass to detail it in workouts. Great job body morphing

Weight Loss / Body fat %

Average for a woman is about 26.5.
Reducing it requires a better diet coupled with increased exercise to maintain a calorific deficit.  This will cause you to lose weight

Motivation & Support / What's your excuse ?

I don't make excuses.  I learned right at the beginning of my fitness journey that they are major obstacles to progress.

If you make them then you lack the motivation to do what needs doing.    If you want it bad enough you stop making excuses and get on with it.

Motivation & Support / Tennis elbow

I think that i have this in my left Elbow and have done for some time.
Only bothered me with certain exercises and after the first few reps the pain lessens.
I would avoid meds if necessary and try supports and or rest.

Welcome Wagon / new here, hello everyone

Hi and welcome.  Best tips i can offer....

1. Get your diet right.
2. Be consistent and work out regularly
3. Maintain a calorific deficit
4. Take responsibility for your situation,  actions and motivation

Hit these 4 targets and you will make significant progress over the coming months.

I wish you luck!

Motivation & Support / Is fitbit a good activity tracker?

My wife had had one for over a year and loves it.  I have no need for one so i have no opinion.

18 Feb
Mine died after one month. Returned it. It opens your eyes to what you eat. I think it's a way for them to generate sellable health data on people. Kinda got to the point where it can't really do anything for you. Once you see your exercise and food cycle I think it's use is over. Kept the phone app.

It sounds like grocery shopping would need to be done a little more often. If I start eating like that to gain weight, I'd be raiding my full fridge in less than a week! >.< I guess I will have to eat less Taco Bell to afford more trips to the market or something >.<
