Motivation & Support / Morning, afternoon, or night?

I usually workout when I have the time. But, my preference is at night. Although, I have switched to the afternoon. used to go to Planet Fitness which is open 24 hours but I switched to Powerhouse which closes at 10. Bummer!

I read something before that says to workout is the afternoon claims that when a mans energy is at its highest, but it all depends on the person,myself its whenever i am able to.I just take a pre workout supplement and i am good to go.

Ask the Pros / Getting rid of excess body fat!

A little background first...

After my first year of college, at about 19 years old, I gained about 30-35 pounds. My heaviest was 155. I was not happy. I started counting calories using the MyFitnessPal app, exercising regularly, and eating healthier. I was able to get down to my goal weight of 130 pounds.

Now, I'm using the app to maintain my weight. I want to stay between 129-135 pounds. I know that's a big gap but I have yet to get up to 135. I still exercise pretty regularly & eat healthy. It's become a lifestyle.

My only thing is...no matter how thin I am, I still have excess belly fat. Lately, at the gym & during home workouts, I've been focusing on ab & core things. Any tips on how to slim my tummy?

Body fat is, as you already named it, an excess of calory intake, stored by the body. If you want to get rid of it you need to burn more than you eat. So you can lower your intake (to which tracking is the right first step) say by 10%-15% for some weeks or boost your training and burn more to also reach a deficit (more muscle mass = higher metabolism and higher BMR or more cardio). No matter which way you go (or best a combination of both) know that to lose 1kg of bf your total deficit needs...

Cool! Thanks!! I'll look to see how many calories a day I'm eating. I'm meeting with trainer tomorrow so hopefully she will have some tips.

Help / Technical Support

I use MyFitnessPal to track calories. I would be nice to have these two apps sync together. I know a lot of people use both apps!

Diet & Nutrition / Food after workout

I switch up what I eat after a workout. But as was mentioned, protein after a workout is best! After my workout tonight, I had a chocolate 100 calorie muscle milk. And then I made a salad: organic baby romaine lettuce, organic baby spinach, tyson grilled chicken strips w/ a little feta cheese & balsamic vinegar. And more water as well.

Diet & Nutrition / What kind of pre-workout is the best?

Hey all!
I have a protein smoothie that I make for breakfast or post-workout. Is there a pre-workout drink that is better than others? Should I even use a pre-workout drink?

I had scrambled eggs with spinach & feta cheese, some strawberries, and a cup of tea with lemon & agave nectar. Delicious! And only 260 calories.

Motivation & Support / How to maintain weight & gain muscle! HELP!

Hey all!

So I'm pretty thin & active. I like to exercise & stay fit & healthy. I'm mostly using this app to gain some muscle & tone up a bit. But, I want to stay at the weight I am. I was 131 pounds...but now in down to 129. How can I gain some muscle without losing more weight. 130 pounds is my ideal weight. My BF does crossfit but I don't have the money to afford that membership. Any ideas, workout, meals to help? I do eat pretty healthy & I've been trying to get more proteins felt as well.

Hey all!

I previously lost 25 pounds using MFP to count calories. I are healthier & exercised more often as well. Anyone else use MFP or any other app like it? Break out those success stories!

I use MFP. I love the calorie counting system, as well as being able to scan food labels for quick adding.
