Sit cross-legged and upright with good posture or low flat with arms and legs straight and relaxed, palms up. Gently close your eyes and mouth, touch the tongue to the roof of your mouth and breathe in and out through your nose. Try to forget everything except for your practice. Allow the mind to run through these things thoughts and find its natural state of quiet. Don’t force. Now follow the breath as it enters the nose and travels down into the lungs. Feel as your lungs fill with air and the diaphragm moves downwards into the abdominal cavity. Feel as the lungs empty and air begins to move back out of the nose. Do not use a strong force. Repeat this process.
